Itinerary
Arrive at Cochin airport and proceed to hotel for check in. Cochin. The commercial hub of Kerala, this centrally located district of Kerala is considered as the gateway t o Kerala for travelers and tourists coming to Kerala. Cochin is referred to as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’ and has in store for visitors some heritage sites as well as historic ones with a landscape crisscrossed by backwaters, which meet the Arabian Sea at various points. After breakfast proceed to Munnar. A picturesque valley of mountains filled with Tea plantations. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Rest of the evening, free at leisure. Overnight at Munnar
After breakfast proceed for a local sightseeing of Munnar. This day in Munnar you may visit to Eravikulam National Park, one of the last refuges of the rare Nilgiri tahr, a mountain goat endemic to these hills, Mattupetty for boating (optional), Kundala Dam, the Eco- point, Top station, Tea Museum or stroll through the tea plantations and drive through the picturesque mountains and valleys. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Munnar with its marvelous waterfalls, lush tea gardens and high mountains with low flying clouds. A drive through the hilly terrain in the cold misty climate is very mesmerizing experience. After sightseeing and thrilling ventures, back to hotel. Overnight at Munnar
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Thekkady and check-in at the resort. Afternoon you may make an optional visit to the famed Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary and enjoy a cruise on Lake Periyar. During the boat ride spot the wild life (elephants, Indian Gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar and birds of myriad varieties).With an area of 777 sq. kms., this Sanctuary lies at an elevation of 914 mts. above sea level in the hills of the Western Ghats. After breakfast proceed to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a small backwater town situated in the banks of Vembanad Lake. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, an ornithologist’s paradise is a favorite haunt of migratory birds like the Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal. Enjoy the spectacular beauty of Kumarakom. After breakfast proceed to Alleppey. By noon proceed for a check in to board a houseboat, for a cruise through the enchanting backwaters enjoying the swaying coconut palms, paddy fields and the village life at close quarters. House boats locally called “kettuvallam” are available on hire on a daily basis as well as for longer duration to take visitors on the old waterways. These house boats in general have 2 bed rooms and attached bath rooms. A routine trip includes food cooked on board in the traditional Kuttanad style. Kovalam is one of the best beaches in India, and known to the world because of its natural location, a rocky promontory jutting into the sea, the beach is rendered safe for sea bathing. After breakfast, city tour Trivandrum. Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). – The capital of Kerala, costal city (still more familiar and widely known as Trivandrum). One of the oldest towns in south India, the majestic temple of Sri Padmanabha Swami – the main attraction of the city.
During the journey you will visit: Complex Museum Naper holds unique collections of archeological and historical objects. Sri Chitra Art Gallery, located on the territory of the museum presents a series of works of artists such as Raja Ravi Varma, Svetlova and Nicholas Roerich.
